Biography / Artist or Gallery Statement
|
Hello, My name is Holly and though I currently live in Spain I was born in England, Surrey where my passion for drawing started from when I could hold a crayon against my bedroom wall (to my parents’ dismay). Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s I was strongly influenced by artists Brian Froud, Bruce McNally and Arthur Rackham whose images of goblins, ghouls, beasts and other unusual but lovable characters inspired me to create my own, using traditional mediums.
After achieving my A-levels I chose to work part time with my alternative interest, photography. As time progressed so did my portfolio and in 2004 my site ‘Elysium Rain’ was launched. Later in that year I moved to Spain with my family. I now spend a majority of my time working on commissions and projects including my own fantasy novel that I hope to have finished in the next couple of years.

Exhibition Details
|
In summer 2006 I held an exhibition where I live in Spain. It consisted mostly of my personal fantasy works, which were well received by the Spanish locals despite their being used to more traditional paintings of flowers, beaches, picturesque Spanish villages and bull fights.
In December 2007 I visited England where I had an exhibition in Chelmsford Library for the book, Alex and Friends.
